About North East History Tours
North East History Tours can provide half day or full day tours with a historical bias. In consultation with tour operators and coach companies, we arrange our routes to suit the interests and needs of each group of visitors with strict attention to the time available. Available themes include:- The World Heritage sites of Durham Cathedral and Hadrian’s Wall
- The houses and castles of the North’s Great Families
- Wild remote scenery of the Pennines
- Dramatic views of the Northumbrian coast and its associations with early Christianity

I can either accompany you in your own car or arrange for a taxi. We also recommend accommodation, arrange refreshments and provide information on public transport.
The commentaries are provided by myself, Walter Willcox MA MITG. I am a qualified Blue Badge guide and have lived in many parts of the North East since 1969 including the Hadrian's Wall area. I also continue to tutor general Arts courses with the Open University.
